Hello!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois and a National Certified Counselor.

I have just moved to Chicago and am excited to see clients at Begin Within Therapy. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Holy Cross New Orleans, LA, while simultaneously studying play therapy at Loyola University New Orleans, LA. I have experience seeing clients via telehealth, individuals in-person, and group counseling. While serving the city of New Orleans, my clients were primarily middle-schoolers, first responders, and individuals who were struggling with their mental health and substance abuse issues. Common issues that I have experience helping with include trauma processing, behavior modification, anxiety, depression, LGBTQA+ issues, and life disrupting crises. 

I strive to create an environment that allows my clients to feel safe, validated, and respected. I operate from an umbrella of person-centered theory of counseling, and incorporate Integrated Existential Therapy for adults/adolescents and Nondirective Play Therapy for children; you can read more about both of those below. My eclectic approach allows me to meet you where you are and borrow techniques from several schools of thought (ex. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), etc.) in order to best personalize your therapeutic experience.
