Aimee Orr, MA, LSW, CADC, CODP, CYT
Aimee (she/her) is a licensed social worker who received her Master of Social Work from Aurora University, a B/A from Indiana University, Bloomington, and an Associate’s degree in Addiction Studies. She believes everyone travels a unique journey, so she loves listening and learning all about her clients with an empathetic ear and open, non-judgmental heart. Her specialties include working with aging adults, adults, adolescents, and their families who struggle with co-occurring concerns, which include substance abuse, anxiety/depression/mood instability, and additional concerns related to experiencing trauma.
Aimee has worked in different levels of care from Detox, Residential/In-patient treatment, Intensive Outpatient, and Outpatient. Aimee utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Theory, and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) when working with clients.
Aimee is also a practiced yogi for 25 years and certified yoga/meditation teacher who deeply understands the mind and body connection and how negative emotions get trapped in the body. Aimee’s positive and calming approach meets clients where they are and helps guide them to a deeper sense of awareness letting go of anything that does not serve them.
Lastly, Aimee has trained clinical staff and facilitated several classes on LGBTQ+, trauma, co-occurring disorders, and others for the Illinois Certification Board (ICB).
