Zakiyyah Williams,

Dr. Zakiyyah Williams (she/her pronouns) is a licensed eligible Post Doctoral level clinician with over 20 years of clinical experience successfully treating children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Williams earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and completed her clinical internship at The Youth Opportunity Center in Muncie, IN and her Post Doctoral training at Onarga Academy in Onarga, IL.

During her career she has received specialized training in treating children and adolescents with behavioral disorders, histories of trauma and abuse, ADHD, learning disabilities, and a variety of other psychological disorders. In addition, Dr. Williams has extensive experience in providing therapeutic services to families struggling to navigate their child’s mental health needs.  Dr. Williams' therapy style has been shaped by her background, emphasizing Cognitive Behavioral and Family Systems interventions focusing on developing skills to improve psychosocial well-being and strengthening interpersonal and familial relationships.

Dr. Williams provides services to children, adolescents, families, couples and adults seeking treatment for a range of mental health concerns including depression and anxiety, Panic Disorder, Conduct Disorder, ADHD, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Dr. Williams specializes in treating children and adolescents who have experienced abuse and trauma, who have challenges making sense of their traumatic experiences by “acting out” and/or who have difficulties forming and maintaining healthy pro-social skills and relationships. In addition to her work with children and families, Dr. Williams has provided professional services as a mental health consultant to family court systems, public school systems, and physicians. Her life experience and training also uniquely qualifies her to remain sensitive to any culturally diverse needs and sensitivities of her clients.

Dr. Williams is currently in process of completing her license and is being supervised by Dr. Mary Madrake at this time.
