Katie McShane (she/her) is a pre-licensed therapist at Begin Within. Katie received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from St. Norbert College and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago.

Katie has experience providing mental health services across a variety of clinical settings, including both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings. Katie has worked with a variety of ages facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. In addition, Katie has experience supporting individuals affected by cancer, helping clients navigate the emotional, psychological, and practical challenges that can accompany diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and caregiving. Katie’s approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. Katie strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.
